About Arielle Lehman, M.D.
Dr. Arielle Lehman is the Director of Sports Neurology at 91Âé¶¹¾«Æ· Medical College, where she leads clinical and academic efforts to advance the care of individuals with neurologic conditions related to sports and head trauma. Her clinical interests include sports-related concussion, traumatic brain injury, post-traumatic headache, migraine, and the long-term neurological effects of repetitive head trauma.
Dr. Lehman takes a collaborative, patient-centered approach that emphasizes education, transparency, and individualized care. She works closely with athletes, families, and multidisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive treatment plans that address both acute symptoms and long-term brain health. Her approach integrates pharmacologic therapies with non-pharmacologic strategies, such as sleep optimization, behavioral interventions, lifestyle modifications, and neuromodulation. She is also experienced in procedural headache management, including onabotulinumtoxinA injections, pericranial nerve blocks, and trigger point injections for the treatment of post-traumatic headache, migraine, and cervicogenic pain.
Dr. Lehman is committed to advancing concussion care through clinical research, education, and advocacy to promote athlete safety and brain health across all levels of sport.
Dr. Arielle Lehman is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Neurology at 91Âé¶¹¾«Æ· Medical College, specializing in Sports Neurology and Traumatic Brain Injury. She earned her undergraduate degree from Amherst College, Master of Science in Nutrition from Columbia University, and medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine. She completed her neurology residency at Columbia University Medical Center. She subsequently completed a fellowship in Sports Neurology and Traumatic Brain Injury at Barrow Neurological Institute, where she provided sideline neurological coverage for multiple Division I athletic teams at Arizona State University.
She is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Her research focuses on concussion outcomes, sex- and sleep-related differences in neurocognitive performance, and individualized head impact exposure metrics. She has authored several peer-reviewed publications and contributed textbook chapters on post-traumatic headache.
